I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, spiritually and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their full potential in these areas by providing an environment that shapes and develops a deep respect for themselves, others, and their environment, inspires a culture of learning that encourages inquiry, and the sharing of ideas. I believe that teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. One of my hopes as an educator is to instil a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with them.

Professional Skills
Holistic approach to Education

My teaching philosophy and approach to education centres around the need to educate and nurture the whole person: emotionally, intellectually, physically, spiritually and socially. My particular focus during my tertiary study and area of passionate interest is student wellbeing, pastoral care and holistic education.

Attending to Individual Differences and Needs

I am highly motivated in meeting the individual needs of all my students. Various workshops, units of study and experience during my teaching practicum have supplied me with a wide range of skills to ensure that I am able to successfully cater to a range of student needs. I am dedicated to the     motivating, challenging and extending of all students understanding and learning.

Teaching and Learning with ICT

I consider myself to be competent in the area of ICT. I have completed both a professional development workshop and a unit of study that focused specifically on the implementation of technology in the classroom. I am able to effectively utilise a variety of computer programs and communication tools in a way that enhances both teaching and learning strategies.

Competency with VELS and VCE

As a graduate teacher, I am well trained in the area of VELS and VCE. Throughout my practicum I have developed a variety of accomplished skills that allow me to successfully meet and adapt my teaching to comply with the outlines of VELS and VCE.

Interpersonal Communication Skills
I consider my communication skills, both oral and written, to be highly proficient. Throughout my teaching practicum I have developed an open network of communication and rapport with supervising teaching, students, and the school community. In addition to this, I have had many years of working alongside adolescence through youth work, camps, and church mentoring programs.

Professional Relationships and Team Involvement

I am experienced and practiced at working with colleagues and peers in developing professional relationships. I thrive in team environments and prosper given the opportunity to be involved within a community.
